New running shoes

I just ordered these babies
Womens ASICS GEL-Neo33 Running Shoe
I am very excited!
This is the first pair of what I feel like are real running shoes I have ever had.
Until now I have always ran in my cheap cross training shoes that I got from Costco.
But now that I am really committing to this running thing I decided to put on some big girl pants and buy shoes actually meant for running.
I can't wait till they come in the mail.
It will be better than Christmas!

13 in 2013

All right, I really wanted to avoid weighing in today but I just couldn't keep myself off the scale.  I am back up to 176 lbs.
Bummer, but whatever.  I continued to eat whatever I wanted over New Years and am now ready to get back on track.
That number will be going back down next week.

I signed up with Jill at Fitness, Health, & Happiness to run 13 races in 2013.  I know, it seems like a lot but I need the motivation to make myself run.  I chose to do 13 5ks but who knows maybe by the summer I will be ready to try a 10k (doubt it).  She will also be hosting some virtual races so that will help with the cost, man races are ridiculously expensive.

Anyway, I have noticed that I say (type?) anyway in almost every post maybe my goal for 2013 should be to not say anyway so much.

Anyway, I think that this 13 in 2013 will just help in my Operation Red Bikini challenge.
I still don't have my goals for this year sorted out, maybe that will never happen, I don't know.

Operation Red Bikini

First of all, woo hoo for Christmas!
It was great fun and I am so glad that it is over.
I get so exhausted around Christmas time, plus I enjoyed myself and ate, a LOT.
No regrets though, it all tasted wonderful.
I am a little sad that I am out of the LastLoserStanding challenge though since I gained back two pounds, oh well.

I still have Operation Red Bikini!
Thanks Kassie and Leigh Ann for putting together this challenge!

And

These jeans are my red bikini

I know I live in the hot lands of southern Arizona but I still wear jeans all summer long.
So come May 31th I am going to be sporting these beautiful Citizens of Humanity jeans.
They are my favorite pair of jeans, when I was thin enough for them to actually fit they were so comfortable.  I haven't been able to wear them for almost 3 years.
I want to fit into this bikini pair of jeans so badly.
It will happen.
Watch out, you never know, maybe I will be too small for them come the end of May.
Wouldn't that be amazing.

Onto New Years

I want to make a couple New Years Resolutions.
I prefer to just call them goals though, I don't know why but calling them resolutions makes me all nervous.
But I am having trouble deciding what I want them to be.
I have all of my fitness ones, then I also would like to actually save some money this year, and I want to be a more purposefull (I know that isn't really a word but I haven't figured it out yet so bare with me) parent.
I think I will post my resolutions goals once I pin them down.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Our weekend full of Christmas Time

It is officially Christmas time in our house.
Jon finally cut down our Christmas tree.
Isn't she a beaut?!

I know, sort of a charlie brown Christmas lookin tree.
You see when we moved into our house a little over a year ago there were two pine trees in the yard.
Now I know some people love pine trees but I don't.
They shed pine needless everywhere plus I am allergic to them, the smell gives me the worst migraines, I take my meds the entire month that we have a Christmas tree.
It is horrible but worth it to my husband for my kids to have a real Christmas tree, I grew up having fake since they have given me migraines since I was 14 but the hubs always had real.
The trees were also in the way of where we are planning on placing a wall next year.

Anyway, he cut our tree down from the yard and when you do this the end product ends up looking like a charlie brown Christmas tree.
It is pretty silly but using it as our Christmas tree makes us feel a little better about cutting down a perfectly good tree.

We decorated tonight and the girls loved it, William could have cared less and the baby fell asleep.

Putting ornaments on the tree is one of my favorite things.

I love the memories each one holds.

We watched the Muppet's Christmas Carol while decorating, I had never seen this movie before, Jon loves it, I guess his family used to watch it every year so he wanted to pass that tradition on to our kids.
It's ok, but that spirit of Christmas past is CREEPY, am I the only one who thinks that?

All together it was a fun evening.

Here is the tree all lit up and decorated. I love creating traditions/memories with my family.
Sorry, I could have taken better pics but I was being lazy.

The rest of our weekend was very chill.

The kids soccer games were canceled due to rain.
That was wonderful, amazing, best news ever a bummer.

My sister and the kids came into town again, I swear I have seen more of them since they supposedly moved to Phoenix then I ever did when they lived here.

I started my 10k training today, I am excited for my first official run tomorrow, I don't know why 2.5 miles is nothing.

WOW

I really just said 2.5 miles is nothing, me, I could hardly walk that a couple months ago, that is amazing!

Naturally neat and tidy

I so desperately want to be one of those people.
You know, the ones who keep a clean house.

The ones who naturally keep a clean house, but sadly I am not.
I can not get a handle on the magic of a clean house.
I have friends who make it look so easy, it seems like their houses are just always clean and tidy.
 What is my problem?
Is it just us, my kids, my husband, me?
 Are we just extra messy?
I don't know.
What do I need?
A different system, a schedule maybe, a MAID?!

What do you do?
Is keeping a neat house one of your natural gifts?
I know we are living in the midst of a war zone construction but, really?!
I mean look at this place!

And who am I kidding, you have to know that I picked up a little before taking this picture.

Is it sad that I want my husband to take all the kids away from the house so that I can use my very small amount of alone time to clean the house.
I am not even attempting to have one of those houses where you could stop by any time unannounced and it would be spotless. I just want to be able to see the floor at night before I go to bed.
Sigh.
I cant wait for my buggers to be older so I can use them like slaves have them do more helpful chores cause emptying the dishwasher is nice but I want them to be able to do all my laundry and the cooking and mop the floors. Man, having four of them is really going to pay off.
Someone please tell me the above picture is normal and that I just have neat freaks for friends, please!

Ok, rant over.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  We are going to finally get our Christmas decor up and start some new traditions.

And we have the last soccer game of 2012 tomorrow, thank goodness, I am ready for a break.  I always forget how much work coaching an under 6 soccer team is.  I swear I coach, realize I despise it, the next year I remember and don't coach but the year after that it is like I have completely forgotten and I sign up to coach, then it hits me, 3, 4, 5, & 6 year olds are ridiculous to coach.  Hopefully I can put an end to this cycle.

Anyway, have a great Friday!

Wednesday: weigh in day

Well, I am up this week, I can't say I am surprised.  I haven't worked out hardly at all this week.
  It is what it is.
I weighed int his morning at 174.2, that's right, up 3 pounds.

I joined a weight loss challenge called the Last Loser Standing and today was our first weigh in.  The last weight loss challenge really helped keep me motivated.  I am hoping this one will do the same.  This challenge is a little different because it isn't based on how much weight you loose just as long as you are losing.  So every week we weigh in and as long as your number hasn't gone up then you are still in the competition.  The last one standing wins.  Pretty cool, huh.

That is all for today, happy Wednesday!
